Techniques For Applying Eyeliner

Applying eyeliner can be tricky at the best of times but there are some tried and tested techniques that if followed, should give you fabulous results.

For a fine and natural look, apply a thin line of eyeliner to the lower lid. Then blend in with a brush if needed.

For the fuller, round looking eye, first apply to the upper lid, making a thicker line in the middle of the lid using a pencil or liquid eyeliner. Now blend in with a brush if needed to give a smoother line.

For larger looking eyes, line only the outer half of the upper and lower eyelid. If you are going for the dramatic look, apply a thick line of eyeliner to upper and lower eyelid, blending in with a brush if needed.

For narrow eyes, only use eyeliner on upper lid to avoid closing eyes further. For the outer part of the eyelid, use pale colours to give shape and definition. Artificial lashes beneficial to help open eyes and make lashes appear thicker.

For heavy eyelids, use pale colours only on the eye socket. Apply artificial lashes to the corners to lift the eyes and help to make them appear more open and wide.

If you have close set eyes, for the inner lid, pale colours should be used. While on the outer lid, darker colours should be used. Blend from pale to darker shade using brush, blending darker shades up and out. Use eyeliner on the outer half of the eye. Eyebrows should be shortened at nose to help create a wider gap between the eyes.

If you have deep set eyes, use pale colours only on the eye socket; use a slightly darker shade above the crease of your eye socket. Use eyeliner on both the upper and lower lids, blending in to soften the lines. Mascara or artificial eyelashes is beneficial to help highlight the eyes further.

With wide set eyes, use darker colours for the inner lid and pale colours on the outer lid. Extend the eyebrows towards the nose to narrow the gap between the eyes using an eyebrow pencil.

For round eyes, use pale colours over the entire eye socket and in the crease of the eye, blend in a darker shade. Apply eyeliner to top and bottom lids and apply mascara on upper and outer lashes only.

For almond shaped eyes, use a light shade of eye shadow from lashes to the brow. Use a medium shade on eyelid and a darker shade on the outer third of your eyelid.

Finally, here are some eye makeup tips for the more mature. Avoid black eyeliner and mascara as these can be too harsh. Instead opt for softer neutrals such as grey or brown for a softer, attractive look.

Protect Your Children's Teeth

As a parent you have many responsibilities. You are responsible for providing your children with an education, food, shelter, clothing and making sure that they remain safe. The list of your duties goes on and on. With all that you have to do, you may not be able to pay enough attention to protecting your child's teeth. It is however an extremely important duty. Protecting your child's teeth now will help them for the rest of their life and could save you thousands of dollars in future dental bills. Here are a few tips to help you maintain your child's dental health.

Set Up Regular Doctors Visits
The most important thing to do is to set up regular doctors visits. Once your child reaches the age of one, you should see to it that they visit the dentist every six months. By doing so, you will catch problems early before they become more painful and more expensive.

Establish Good Oral Hygiene
Establish good dental habits early with your child. Teach them to brush their teeth at least twice a day. Make sure that they also floss at least once per day. If you establish an oral hygiene routine early in life, chances are that they will stick with it forever.

Protect Their Teeth From Injury
You can not prevent every injury, accidents do happen. You can however prevent some injuries. If your children play sports, have them wear a mouth guard. Mouth Guards prevent thousands of oral injuries every year but could prevent thousands more. They should be worn in all physical sports, not just football or hockey. They can be injured just as easily in soccer, baseball, basketball and just about every other sports involving physical contact.

Stop Bad Habits
Thumb and pacifier sucking should be stopped as soon as possible. After the age of 2 pacifier sucking can have a great negative impact on how their teeth come in.

Establish A Healthy Diet
Limit how much sugar your child eats. Sodas and candy will eat away at your child's teeth. Get them in the habit early of not overindulging in sugary snacks.

These are just a few simple things that you can do to assure that your child has good dental health. Your children may not want to do all of them but one day they will thank you for making them.

Cosmetic Procedures in Thailand

Thailand is called the land of smiles and for a good reason. Like all medical care, cosmetic surgery in Thailand is inexpensive and of a high quality.

Cosmetic Procedures in Thailand

Cosmetic surgery can be an expensive and time consuming experience. When choosing to have a cosmetic procedure, you need to weigh all of your options carefully before committing to having the procedure done. While many people will save their money for years in order to get their cosmetic surgery done by the most trendy doctors in places like New York City and Los Angeles, other patients have found a way around this long wait and expense. More and more, people are taking vacation trips to other countries and combining these trips with cosmetic surgery procedures.

When it comes to taking trips for cosmetic surgery Thailand has been at the forefront of this trend. Since the early 1990's, tourists have been flocking to Thailand for the care of their cosmetic surgeons, clinics, and posh recovery sites. The favorable exchange rate with Thailand combined with less expenses incurred by the surgeons means that patients who choose to have their procedures done here will pay far less than what they would in the United States. Phuket, an island resort in Thailand, has been offering their special brand of cosmetic surgery and vacation atmosphere to patients for years.

When choosing cosmetic surgery, Thailand offers a lot more than just a cheaper place to have your procedure done. Surgeons at the Phuket Cosmetic Surgery Clinic are also world-renowned for a special type of cosmetic surgery sex reassignment, or sex change, surgery. They are one of the few clinics in the world that offer this type of surgery, but they are certain not to take such a change in their patients' appearance lightly. Anyone who wants sex reassignment surgery performed here must pass rigorous psychological studies and medical testing before the surgeons will consent to the procedure. Of course, the doctors of Phuket and other cities in Thailand perform many other types of cosmetic surgery, and the country also offers some of the best spa retreats in the world where you can relax and recover from your surgery in style.

You can also entertain yourself with the many cultural activities that Thailand has to offer, but you must remember some items before planning your trip. There is always some risk to cosmetic surgery, whether you choose to have it performed in the US or Thailand, so be careful to research your doctor and clinics thoroughly before leaving for your trip. Another issue may arise in the language barrier be sure that you will have a translator available to help you communicate with medical staff, or that they speak English. Almost all of them speak great English, but we are talking about surgery here. If you keep in mind these few precautions, you can be sure your trip will be a successful one.

Truth be told, I have never had cosmetic surgery in Thailand. When I go every few years, however, I do have a checkup, get my teeth cleaned and so on. The medical care is excellent and inexpensive. Oh, the beaches arent to bad either!

Herbal skin care

Skin care is not a topic of recent times; it has been in practice since ancient times, when herbal skin care was probably the only way to take care of skin. However, skin care has transformed in a big way. Herbal skin care routines have been replaced by synthetic/chemical-based skin care routines. The herbal skin care recipes which once used to be common place are not so popular today (and even unknown to a large population). This transformation from herbal skin care to synthetic, can probably be attributed to two things our laziness (or just the fast pace of lives) and the commercialisation of skin care. Even herbal skin care products have been commercialised. These commercial herbal skin care products have to be mixed with preservatives in order to increase their shelf-life, hence making them less effective than the fresh ones made at home. However, it seems that things are changing fast and more people are now opting for natural and herbal skin care routines. But still, none want to make them at home and hence the commercial market of herbal skin care products is on the rise.

So what are these herbs or herbal skin care mechanisms?

Aloe vera, which is an extract from Aloe plant, is one of the best examples of herbal skin care product. Freshly extracted aloe vera is a natural hydrant that helps in soothing skin. It also helps in healing cuts and treating sun burns.

A number of herbs are known to possess cleansing properties. Dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary herbs, are a few examples of such cleansers. Their herbal skin care properties get invoked when they are combined with other herbs like tea.

Antiseptics are another important part of Herbal skin care. Lavender, marigold, thyme and fennel are good examples of herbs that are known to possess antiseptic properties. Lavender water and rose water also form good toners.

Tea plays an important part in herbal skin care. Tea extracts are used for treatment of skin that has been damaged by UV radiation.

Oils prepared from herbal extracts present another means of herbal skin care. Tea tree oil, Lavender oil, borage oil and primrose oil are some popular oils used in herbal skin care. Some fruit oils (e.g. extracts from fruits like banana, apple and melon) find use in shower gels (as a hydrating mix)

Homeopathic treatments and aromatherapies also come under the umbrella of herbal skin care remedies.

Herbal skin care is good not only for the routine nourishing of skin but also for treatment of skin disorders like eczema and psorasis. Most herbal skin care products dont have any side effects (the most important reason for preferring them over synthetic products) Moreover, herbal skin care products can be easily made at home, hence making them even more attractive. So, herbal skin care is the way to go. However, this does not mean that you totally discard the synthetic products. Some people go to the extent of debating with their dermatologist, if he/she suggests a synthetic product. You should accept the fact that some skin orders might need usage of clinically proven non-herbal skin care products.

Many skin care tips and articles.

What's in Lipstick?

What's in Lipstick?

Recently, I figured out that if I applied lipstick that my face would grow to two times its regular size. If I wiped off the lipstick, I could get my head back almost into its regular shape. I didn't have a lot of time to figure out what was in lipstick but I put it down to fragrance and some of the others on the ingredient list.

One day I was so tired of not wearing lipstick that I went to a drugstore to find out. I took my small daughter. Within a couple of minutes of being in the make-up aisle, my daughter started to have her head grow to twice its regular size and she didn't even have lipstick on. I went over to the counter and asked the girl, what was in lipstick and make-up to make both myself and my daughter have allergic reactions? I was still at that point considering that maybe a certain brand wouldn't have whatever the ingredient was in it.

She smiled at me, started to show me the book of ingredients that nobody can truly read without a dictionary and then she looked from me to my daughter and finally said, "The shimmer in lipstick is from ground up fish and shellfish. It doesn't come out and say that on the lipstick ingredients."

I nearly fainted. I couldn't believe that something that people have as an anaphalaxis type allergy is not marked on all of the make-up.

Still, I perservered. "What kind doesn't have it in it?" I asked, assuming that one of the thirty brands would give me a break.

"None of them," she assured me. "It's not marked down anyway. There's a big word for it."

"What about lip gloss?" I asked.

"No," she said. "Whale blubber. Sorry. Allergy medicine is in aisle five."

So, off we went to go get some medicine and some fresh air. This news sent me realing. Why isn't this in the media? Why doesn't anyone know about what is in lipstick and lots of other kinds of make-up? I realized too that potentially all kinds of men and owmen do not know about the risks involved in simply freshening up their lips. I mention men because of the kissability factor.

I went onto talk to friends and relatives. Did you know...? Nobody did. I only recently met someone who had an inkling of what I was talking about. Her dad worked in a lipstick factory all of his working career.

Unless a make-up line specifically says that it does not have animal byproducts in it, then the shimmer is most likely caused by ground up fish and seafood. Not that they're apparently aiming to include the seafood but much like the tuna caught in a big net with other creatures of the sea, same problem.

For those of you who have allergies, seek out cosmetic companies such as Mary Kaye who do have that guarantee. There are several other lines that will promise this no animal byproducts such as Body Shop. Remember that while you may not have this allergy yourself, your child could have this allergy, your husband, boyfriend or your co-workers.

Sunless Tanning Lotions - The Anti-Aging Fake Bake that Looks Great

With so many people wanting a great tan without exposing themselves to the many dangers of UV rays, science has developed new ways to get your suntan without exposure to the harmful UV rays of the sun. It wasn't long ago when many people considered indoor tanning beds a safer alternative to traditional sunbathing, we all know now that these too can cause serious damage to your skin. Sunless tanning lotions and creams have now become a popular alternative to give you that golden tan without damaging your skin.

Sunless tanning is growing in popularity and is one that health-conscious people as well as doctors can agree on. Your fake tan or tan in a bottle can save your life. You are avoiding skin cancer from harmful UV rays. You will also look better as you age because your sunless tan requires no exposure to UV rays which are known to accelerate wrinkles and aging.

Sunless tanning products are designed to be easy to apply although it may sometimes be a little time-consuming. If you do it regularly, you will find that it gets faster and easier. The tan lasts for about 8 or 9 days with most porducts, and you will have to reapply to maintain a tan. While it may seem like a lot of trouble, it is well worth it to protect your skin and your health. If a tan is really that important to you but you dont want to increase your risk of sun damage, then you should not mind taking the extra time to apply sunless tanners.

If you havent tried sunless tanning lotions recently, you may not know how improved and advanced they have become. You no longer have to worry about turning yourself orange or looking like you need to bathe. Spotty, splotchy and orange sunless tanners are a thing of the past. Sunless tanners take about 3 to 4 hours to start developing and will reach peak coloration 24 hours after application. You get a great golden tan that appears natural as well. If you do use the tanning bed occasionally, you can use the sunless tanning products to maintain that tan so you spend less time in the damaging rays.

Sunless tanning is a great option for people who cannot tan in traditional sun UV rays. For example, people with fair skin, freckles, red hair or very light blonde hair can have difficulty tanning in natural sunlight. You should also avoid it if you have had sun damage in the past, a family history of skin cancer, are taking medications that increase your sensitivity to the sun and for several other reasons. Sunless tanners let these people get the look they want with no risk to their health.

The most important benefits to sunless tanning are the health benefits. It is a fact that exposure to UV rays causes skin cancer and creates signs of early aging with wrinkles and sun spots. Most people who are concerned with their looks enough to want a great tan will also be concerned about not getting early wrinkles and other signs of aging. Sunless tanning products are a great alternative to tanning beds and can help to maintain the look of a a healthy tanned appearance year-round without the associated risks and aging effects.

Deception Wrinkle Cream - Moisturizer Wrinkle Cream Thats Works !

New Cosmetic Product Makes Wrinkles Almost Invisible to the Naked Eye!

Watch this recent ABC News clip and see the results for yourself! An ndependent news organization persuaded two volunteers to try the product and tell them what they thought about it!

What's going on here?

Is this some kind of magic? No, -it's not magic. It's science which seems like magic. The main ingredient in Deception is made from something called "emu oil". I'll tell you about emu oil in a moment... but first... let me tell you what creates the "magic" effect.

This is the best triple-refined emu oil in the world. And, an extra ingredient is added to it while it is being made into a cream. This extra ingredient is a suspension of superfine silicon dioxide nanoprisms which has been "fractionated" instead of powderized. That means instead of turning into flakes when it is processed... it turns into...

Billions of Microscopic Three-Dimensional Nanoprisms!

So what?

Here's "so what." Almost nobody knows this... but... the human eye cannot see a wrinkle. What the eye sees is actually the shadow made by the wrinkle. And, since all those billions of microscopic nanoprisms refract light, when you use Deception...

There are No Shadows to See!

This effect will last until you wash your face and the invisible silicon dioxide is removed. And get this: Remember how I told you the main ingredient in this cosmetic cream is made from emu oil? Well, it turns out emu oil is probably the best cosmetic ingredient in the world. That's because its molecules are much smaller than the molecules in human skin. Because of this, emu oil can...

Penetrate Down Through Seven Layers of Human Skin!

This makes it the best moisturizer in the world.

And here's more good news! The reason you get wrinkles in the first place is, as you get older, you start losing the collagen in your skin. Can you guess what emu oil does?
