Modesty In Spas

Modern day tensions at home and the work place make everyone tense, tired and irritable. With the shortage of time, seldom will there be time for pampering and relaxing. This is the reason many people turn to spas to relax and get pampered. Sometimes, spa treatment leaves us so rejuvenated, that we feel that we can face the whole world after the treatment.

A visit to a spa is a wonderful experience. It completely relaxes you with the various treatments it has for every inch of your body. There is a large choice of treatments available in a spa. You have to go there and choose what treatment you want to indulge in, according to your needs and necessities and thus plan your own spa routine. The different treatments available in a spa are usually different types of massages, mud baths, facials, steam rooms, saunas, manicures and various other techniques. The choice is yours.

Most of the spas are parts of an entire health resort. So a visit to these resorts let you have some physical activities like swimming, tennis and golf, while getting pampered in the spa if and whenever required. Making a trip to a health resort with a spa gives you a holiday worth spending in, long away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

However, the spa retreat may prove to be rather expensive if you intend to indulge in each and every treatment they provide. It may not be possible for everyone to spend that much cash in all the treatments that the spas provide. Different spas have different rates for different therapies. So it is up to you to decide whether to spend a day or a month in a spa; it all depends on your pocket and your time.

When going to a spa, it is better to wear comfortable and casual clothing. There are lockers in the spa that will be allocated to you to keep your clothes and personal belongings. If you have any jewelry or financial security needed, it is better to hand it over to the reception of the spa for safe keeping. Most of the spas have communal pools or steam rooms. If there is no mention of the attire requirements for these rooms, it is better to ask. Some spas require that you war your own swimming costume while others supply wraps or shorts. So if you are to wear your own swimming costume, you will have to bring it along with you on your visit to the spa.

Most of the spas also have a public wet area wherein you will have to arrive half an hour before your appointment to relax or enjoy a swim or steam before taking your treatments. However, like in all swimming pools, it is required that you take a shower before using these public areas! If you are worried about your modesty, dont worry, your modesty is considered at all times. Some of the spas tell you to bring an extra set of undergarments to be worn during the treatment, while others supply disposable underwear. There are also some spas that are adept in ensuring that the body is modestly covered at all times.

So the spa not only relaxes you with its treatments, it also keeps your modesty in mind when giving you your treatments!

Skin Treatment - Chemical Peels With AHA

Mildest peels are performed with Alpha Hydroxy Acids such as glycolic, lactic or other fruit acids. Aha peels are especially recommended for people with fine wrinkles, some areas of dryness, pigmentation and sometimes acne. These peels are also good for people who do not have time to go for medium or deep peels that take more time to recover. Your doctor may apply this peel at weekly intervals or at other intervals depending upon the results being obtained. the normal strength of AHA such as Glycolic Acid may be 12%. You may be given a maintenance cream of an AHA in milder form to be applied everyday at home.

In the beginning of the treatment AHA peels may cause some redness, irritation or stinging. As the skin adjusts to the peel, theses effects disappear. This treatment generally takes about ten minutes during which the doctor applies the peeling solution to your face. No protective covering is required over the treated are and you can continue working normally. With your maintenance program at home, you may see a different fresh looking skin after some days. The results may not be immediately visible. Mixed with bleach this peel will also treat some uneven pigmentation.

Sun protection is necessary with this treatment. Please do not expose yourself to sun without taking adequate protection.

What is the Tummy Tuck Procedure?

Tummy Tuck Procedure is a form of plastic surgery which is used to correct the disfigured lower stomach, particularly the region around the lower abdomen muscles. This problem is mostly found in women after pregnancy and in men after a gastric bypass surgery. The Tummy tuck procedure known as abdominoplasty in medical terms can be of different types in different cases but all forms fall under two broad categories:
1. Standard Tummy Tuck Procedure: also known as complete abdominoplasty is performed on middle and lower abdominal muscles. And,
2. Mini Tummy Tuck Procedure: also known as partial abdominoplasty is performed only on the lower abdominal muscles.

Standard tummy tuck procedure restores the shape of your highly disfigured lower stomach by removing excess fat and skin accumulated around the lower abs, tightening up the middle lower and middle abdomen and restoring the position of the naval.

Mini tummy tuck procedure is comparatively a smaller and less complex operation which involves removing little amount of fat and skin and tightening up of the lower abdomen only.

Both tummy tuck procedure surgeries are performed under general or local anesthesia. The patient is also administered a doses of epinephrine or adrenaline to constrict the blood vessels and prevent excessive bleeding and Valium to help them relax prior to surgery. The patient may also choose to be administered with a suitable pain reliever which allows them to relax further and drift off to sleep.

The Tummy Tuck Procedure steps:
after administrating anesthesia, the surgeon makes a long incision from one hipbone to another detaching the naval from surrounding tissues.
then a second incision to free the naval from the surrounding tissues.
skin flap is lifted up to reveal the abdomen muscles.
abdomen muscles are then tightened by stitching them together.
then the skin flap is stretched down and excess skin is removed.
a new hole for the belly button is carved and sewed in place.
incisions are closed then an elastic dressing is put to support.
a temporary tube may be inserted to drain excessive fluid.

These Tummy Tuck Procedure are not different than other surgeries and should be performed systematically and essentially by qualified surgeons.

Choosing the Right Hair Removal Method

You've got some unsightly hair and you want to remove it, but how? How do you know which of the many methods currently available is the right one for the job at hand? Before making a decision, ask yourself a few questions. Here are some tips on what you should consider.

First of all, the method of hair removal you select will depend on the area of the body you want hair-free. Do you want to remove hair from your face or your body? From there, be even more specific. Do you want hair removed from your arms, legs, eyebrows, back, chest, belly button, nipples, pubic area, knuckles or somewhere else?

Once you've determined the area of the body you want to focus on, next determine whether your hair 'problem' is hereditary. Some people are simply more prone to growing darker, coarser hair and if that's in your genes, know that no amount of treatment is going to completely solve your excessive hair situation.

Now before you decide on total body hair removal, it's going to be very important to determine your budget. That's right; you've got to have the means to pay for your chosen method(s). And remember that most methods will require multiple treatments at various intervals. Hair removal methods range from a few dollars a month to several thousand dollars per treatment. Typically four, five or more of these costly treatments will be required. Only you can decide whether that is going to be the best use of your money.

Another tip is to determine your pain tolerance level. Don't laugh. How much pain you can handle will impact your selection of hair removal methods. Many are painful, and although the pain is temporary, they result in pain nonetheless. Waxing and electrolysis cause the most pain, so if you can't tolerate pain, you should select a different method.

Finally, it's very important that you make sure you're undergoing the hair removal process because you want to. The decision to take this step should be made by YOU and only YOU. Don't be pressured into this by somebody else.

The above tips should help you get started in the decision-making process. Once you've given thought to the above areas, you've got one more decision to make: should you choose a permanent or a temporary hair removal method. First of all know that most methods are temporary, and there is just no way around that fact. The only way to permanently stop hair growth is to damage the hair germination structure within the follicle. Electrolysis is the only method that has been proven to achieve this goal. Laser therapy comes close, but more studies are needed.

Considering that these two are the most expensive of all the options, you need to refer back to the budgeting tip above. If you can't afford this method, you can't take advantage of it, period. A temporary method will be your only option. If you can afford the costs, then compare the risks against the benefits and go from there!

Dave's Shave Tips

Guys (and maybe ladies too), I have some good news about shaving. You have probably experienced some of the hassles and problems of this chore and are familiar with its inherent potential for being very annoying.

You may be frustrated with razor burn and dry skin after struggling with your daily shaving routine. You can bet I tried all kinds of different razors, shaving cream and even some aftershaves to see what I could do about this problem.

You want to know what I found after a lot of experimenting and trying different things? You probably have a neat handy little item that is common household fare and may be found in your kitchen. Its Olive Oil. You got it, olive oil!

The benefits to using olive oil for shaving are huge. It is such a natural lubricant that the right kind of razor will slide right across your face giving you smooth and soft skin and still getting the job of cutting the growth from your face. And the best part is that your skin may actually start to look younger after using olive oil to shave with over the long term.

Therefore, do not forget to apply some olive oil to your forehead when you shave too. The reason is that the rest of your face will become younger looking and you want your forehead to keep up. In retrospect, I remember reading about a famous Hollywood actress that mentioned that olive oil was her secret to having great skin.

You can bet that others are using olive oil to shave with too. I did a search right before deciding to share this information with you and sure enough there are other people out there that shave with olive oil.

One nice thing about it is that you dont have to use high quality olive oil. You can buy the inexpensive low grade olive oil that doesnt taste very good from your local supermarket to shave with.
A bottle will last a really long time. You can kiss your shaving cream goodbye. You can also leave out aftershave if you so choose. Your skin should feel great without it.

Now, lets talk about that razor of yours. Here is what I have found out about razors and am willing to share with you. Even though I use the great lubricant properties of olive oil to shave with, I still have found a few issues that using the right kind of razor can help with.

If your experience is similar to mine, you may have found that it is difficult to shave in the grooves of your neck and face, particularly under the jaw bone with typical razors. Even with olive oil you can still easily cut your face if you make the wrong movement. You might find that that Gillettes Mach 3 and olive oil are the perfect combination.

The Mach 3 has a nice swivel head with a great lubricating strip. This allows for the flexibility to really get into the nooks and crannies when used in combination with the olive oil. You will be able to get in there with a lot less fear of cutting yourself. Its not impossible, but the Mach 3 does make it a lot harder to cut the skin of your face.

You may be using another brand of razor with a lubricating a strip. So far, in my opinion, none have come close to the Mach 3 for safety and comfort. I do sometimes use a stiffer blade to make the vertical strokes because it can be really effective. But, when it comes time to dig into those nooks and crannies, I like to break out the Mach 3.

No, I dont work for Gillette and I am in no way associated with them. The reason I use a stiffer blade for the vertical strokes is because its effective and also less expensive. The Mach 3 blades are a bit on the expensive side, so you can save a little bit by just reserving them for the nooks and crannies. With the use of olive oil, you might be able to get a longer usage period out of a blade before needing to dispose of it.

For ladies, I suggest using a sparing amount of olive oil. The reason is that you will be covering a much larger area and too much olive oil can get a little messy. For us guys, we can probably enjoy the luxury of using more because it is easier to wash from the face.

I wish you the best of luck with your next shaving experience.

Living Naturally - Natural Health and Skincare

Today's lifestyle leaves us open to a daily chemical assault, from the air we breathe to the water we drink, and the skincare and haircare products we use on a daily basis. It is not known what the long-term effects of these chemicals will be, but one thing's for sure, it can't be good.

Some people are unaware of the huge amounts of additives in their food, water and personal care products. Some are too busy to care, and others have the attitude ' Yes I know, it's awful, but what can you do?'

The informed, wise people out there though, are taking a different view. Any species that fails to live in harmony with it's natural environment will eventually make itself extinct. Fact. It's nature. If human beings carry on the way they are going, they will indeed end up extinct..

For instance, 100 years ago, cancer affected approximately 1 in every 50 people. Now it strikes 1 in 3. It won't be long before it is striking half the population. It doesn't take a genius to realise that our lifestyle is the biggest factor influencing this increase.

Diet especially, is of paramount importance when it comes to maintaining good health, but so many people ignore this fact and fill their bodies ( and their kids ) with low-nutrient , chemical and additive filled junk.

When people eat meat, they are consuming the same chemicals and hormones that the animal ate. Obesity is on the sharp increase, and it's not surprising considering that the majority of obese people are meat-eaters. They eat the meat, the meat is full of growth hormones and chemicals, the growth hormones are absorbed into the human body, so the person gets fatter. Want my advise - if your are overweight and seriously want to lose weight - go on a low fat vegetarian diet.

If your body had a choice, it would ask for lots of fresh organic fruit and vegetables, preferably raw. Your body would choose clean , fresh water ( I mean pure bottled spring water, not the stuff that comes out of your tap at home). Think about how much fresh water you consume in a day, and by that I mean water thats not mixed with squash, tea , coffee or anything else. I bet it's not much. Do your body a favour, next time you reach for the fizzy drink, reach for the mineral water instead.

Tap water is just another way that we are being poisoned on a daily basis. It contains chemicals, hormones and in a lot of areas it also contains flouride. Yes, sodium flouride , that old favourite. The stuff they put in toothpaste is the same stuff they use to make rat-poison ! Surprised. What people get confused about is calcium flouride, which is the stuff naturally found in water which helps keep our teeth and bones strong. People think this is what goes into toothpaste and the water supply, wrong.

Sodium flouride is a by-product of aluminium smelting and other industries. It's nothing more than toxic waste. For years it was very expensive to dispose of, until someone decided to make up some rubbish about it being good for our teeth, so they could get away with disposing of it in our water supply. This of course was done without public agreement. Nice, thanks for that, I'll stick to the bottled stuff.

Sodium flouride builds up in the body over time, and it can cause cancer. It makes bones softer so they fracture more easily, and it doesn't protect your teeth, in fact it has the opposite effect. Sodium flouride is a main ingredient in anesthetic, hypnotic, and psychiatric drugs as well as military nerve gas.

Sodium flouride promotes mental disturbances. The Nazi's added it to the water supply at the concentration camps during the war, to help sterilize the prisoners and force them to be calm and submissive.

Sodium Flouride has a poisonous and narcotic effect on a certain area of the brain, which makes the person submissive and less able to resist those who wish to control him. It's a way of controlling of the masses. Hmmm, makes you wonder what the government have in mind for us today......

When we look at the skincare and haircare products we use daily, most contain sodium laurel ( or laureth ) sulfate. This is a foaming agent which is so harsh that it was first used as engine degreaser! Fancy that, washing your skin and hair in something harsh enough to strip oil off a garage floor. No wonder we're all spending a fortune on moisturisers! Hmmm, am I just paranoid or do you think there could be some method in their madness......

So they put this SLS in your shampoo, shower gel, bath foam, toothpaste etc, and then add moisturising ingredients to the same products to counteract the drying effects of the SLS. Why not just buy products without SLS? That's what the smart people are doing. That's what I do.

Since I stopped using commercial shampoos and skincare products, and switched to all natural, herbal skin care products, and natural hair care products, my skin and hair are gorgeous. My hair that was once frizzy and dry is now curly and shiny.

Since I began using organic, aromatherapy based skin care, my skin that was once so shiny from all the grease and additives from my previous moisturiser, is now so soft , much younger looking, and I don't need powder or foundation because my skin is great!

I use non-flouride toothpaste, and I take vitamin and mineral supplements every day. I always eat fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, and I always drink bottled, pure water. I am vegetarian so I eat a very natural , low fat diet, that's full of nutrients. I have never felt so healthy.

If you value your body, your health and your life, as well as your children and other loved ones, you owe it to yourself to change your lifestyle right now and start living more naturally.

The Most Potent Form of Aloe Vera

There are many forms of aloe vera supplements on the market today including pills, liquid, aloe juice, and freeze dried soluble powders. If you do your due diligence and seek information you will reach the obvious conclusion that freeze dried aloe is by far the most effective way to absorb the benefits into your system.

The consumer has to be careful because not all freeze dried aloe vera is the same. The most potent freeze dried aloe vera is produced from the pure aloe gel. This will give the product the highest range of molecular weight possible. The more complete the molecular weight, the more complete the healing properties will be.

By hand filleting the gel off the Aloe leaf and combining other proprietary extraction and mixing techniques, there is one company named 21st Century Aloe Vera that produces freeze dried powder containing all the healing advantages of the fresh plant in a concentrated form. 7-8 gallons of fresh gel make 1 ounce of this product! The biggest whole leaf juice competitor contains 97% of its molecular weights under 150,000 Daltons, which makes it almost useless in terms of healing properties.

Other more advanced freeze dried competitors do better with 99% of its molecular weight up to 1,000,000 Daltons. But they use alcohol in their antiquated freeze dried process while 21st Century Aloe Vera uses none. 10% of 21st Century Aloe Vera has molecular weights from 1,000,000 to 2,500,000 Daltons. You can't find a more complete or potent aloe vera product anywhere.

In the rest of the aloe vera industry there are not very many products that actually offer anything more than 150,000 Daltons in molecular weights, a long way off any meaningful healing result.

Only the gel from aloe vera should be used for human consumption and not the whole leaf. All whole leaf products contain broken down MPS (Mucilaginous Poly Saccharide) molecules and therefore no real healing properties. Even worse than this is that whole leaf supplements contain caustic minerals and enzymes that are very hard on the stomach. Freeze dried products made only from the gel are very soothing and healing to the stomach.

MPS from the aloe plant is the sticky portion of the plant. It is a long sugar molecule arranged in long linear chains. The longer the chain, the more MPS weights. The MPS molecule ranges from 10,000 to 2,500,000 Daltons. For all the healing effects to be available in an aloe vera supplement, all the molecular weight ranges need to be there.

Unfortunately, there are not very many aloe vera products on the market that actually offer anything more than a few thousand Daltons in molecular weights of the MPS molecule. By hand filleting the gel off the leaf, freeze drying with a proprietary method of mixing the powder including the vast and complete range of MPS molecular weights 21st Century Aloe Vera contains all the healing advantages of the fresh plant.

Aloe Vera is a wonderful, necessary supplement for good health and well being. It's anti-inflammatory, blood sugar balancing, anti-pathogenic, free radical scavenging, and immune modulating. As such it's extremely effective in bolstering and balancing the immune system.

AIDS is a bell weather disease regarding the immune system because the HIV virus launches a direct attack upon it. Any product that positively affects the symptoms of this disease can certainly positively affect any other attack on the immune system.

Because of it's potency in terms of it's purity and absorption into the body, a freeze dried product made from the gel only repairs the immune system in a universal fashion resulting in the reversal of countless number of conditions and diseases. If a powerfully destructive disease like AIDS can be reversed with a natural treatment that repairs the immune system in a universal fashion, then literally all disease will benefit from this type of treatment.

All There Is About Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is, technically speaking, epilation by laser or with the use of a special light. Besides the body, certain types of laser hair removal may safely be used to reduce facial hair as well. The laser (or light) of a particular wavelength is used to cause damage to dark elements in hair follicles. These elements are referred to as chromophores. They can be artificially produced or naturally occurring.

Today, most techniques target naturally occurring chromophores, in particular, melanin. Melanin gives colour to both hair and skin. Of the former, there are two types: eumelanin and pheomelanin. Eumelanin gives a brown or black colour. The latter gives a blonde or red colour. Since the dark matter in hair follicles are the target, only the former - darker - type of hair is suitable for this procedure.

While laser hair removal became a commercial cosmetic procedure about 10 years ago, it has been experimented with well before then. In fact, medical lasers have been used to remove dark spots, acne scars, other types of skin blemishes and even tattoos. The point about laser hair removal is that, it's not permanent. In fact, in countries like the U.S., the FDA prohibits the advertisement of FDA-approved laser treatments to be described as a method of "permanent removal". Hence, use of the term "permanent reduction" or laser hair reduction to describe the procedure.

A more realistic description of laser hair removal is the "permanent reduction" of hair. It should be noted that, it's sometimes required to have multiple sessions of laser treatment over a certain period of time to achieve this goal. There is also no guarantee that ALL of the hair in the area treated will be reduced. To actually guarantee genuine permanent hair removal is to risk genuine scarring.

Ideally, the first thing the individual should do is to consult a qualified dermatologist. They should be able to advise on the suitability of the procedure. In any event, results will be most noticeable on light skinned individuals with dark hair. A lot more care will need to be taken, if the procedure is done on darker skinned and/or tanned individuals.

What you should be careful about
As noted above, one is well advised to avoid establishments that make false claims. The following are some of the more popular ones:
There is absolutely no pain or it's virtually painless. It is for many without needing any relief from the pain, but not for everyone.
The safe, permanent removal of hair. Again, the safe goal is hair reduction. Permanent removal is possible with scarring.
No re-growth of hair whatsoever. To date, there has been no real, genuine, qualified and objective evidence to support this claim.
It's "laser electrolysis" or "lasertrolysis". Hair reduction via electrolysis is completely different from reduction via the use of a laser. Both have their pros and cons, in terms of suitability and effectiveness.
In the end, it's best to consult a qualified dermatologist first.

Skin Problem- Spider Veins And How To Get Rid Of Them

What Are Spider Veins?

Spider veins are a very small thread like veins. They are generally blue or red in color. These veins are found more on legs and face. These veins are a big cosmetic problem as they disfigure the look of the skin. Let us find out how they form and how to get rid of them.

Spider Veins- How Do They Form?

Spider veins are thought to form due to genetic reasons. Women get them more than men and they develop after an age. Young people don't suffer from this problem much. They form a web like bundle that spreads from a center and that is why it is called spider veins. Spider Veins are different than varicose veins. In varicose veins, the veins get pressurized by blood and protrude from the skin surface. Ulceration of varicose veins causes a medical problem.

Spider Veins- How They Are treated?

The only method of treatment of spider veins is destruction. They can be destroyed in many ways. Your doctor may use a fine needle and cut through the veins with electricity. The veins get destroyed as they are burnt. Lasers are now frequently used to remove spider veins. Your doctor will tell about the method that is suitable for you.

Cellulite reducer or Liposuction?

So what exactly is this evil cellulite that so many of us suffer from? Simply put its small amounts of fat that become trapped in pockets just below the skins surface. Because the fat is close to the surface, it creates the icky cottage cheese appearance we all love so much. Thankfully there is an entire market developing around a new product, the Cellulite Reducer.

The answer for the last couple of decades to Cellulite has been liposuction. Simply put they suck the fat out of you, but since it is a medical procedure there are risks associated with it. Risks associated with Liposuction are:

Scars, swelling, infections, contour irregularities, and loose skin just to name a few.

Combine the medical risks associated with the expense of liposuction and it shouldnt be a hard decision to give a good cellulite reducer a try before going under the knife. Its a safer alternative and a lot less costly.

So how does a cellulite reducer work? If its not pulling the fat out of the problem areas how does it act on them from the outside?

First thing is there are some pill-based products that you can take as a cellulite reducer. Its not really the best way to cure cellulite because blood doesnt run well in the areas where cellulite exists. With low blood flow, its difficult to get the active ingredients to the area to reduce the cellulite. However you may think thats its just as difficult to solve the cellulite problem from the outside in.

Not true, many cellulite reducers that are cream based products are applied to the affected area once or twice a day but they use active ingredients to actually shrink the fat below the skin. By shrinking the fat cells skin becomes more toned, and moisturized in the process.

It makes more sense to give a cellulite reducer a try. Of course the products do work. Can Antioxidants Improve Skin Care?

For most issues related to teenagers, fads rule the roost. And skin care issues are highest among teenagers. Today any medium, be it magazines, newspapers, television or the Internet are inundated with skin care related articles. These articles could include various therapies and homemade solutions for skin care. Ranging from the totally natural to those which involve chemicals, these articles provide the reader with the much needed solutions to their skin related problems.

These days, the latest craze in skin care regimes is natural antioxidant skin care. The belief that is being popularized these days is that the more natural the product being used the more effective and devoid of side effects it will be. This concept has a strong historical background since it is a known fact that queens and princesses of the ages gone by used natural extracts of plants like hibiscus and olive to keep their skin glowing and youthful. Over time, man has processed these very elements and made them available to the common man in the form of tubes, bottles and cans containing moisturizers, creams, shampoos and anti-aging gels. These contain the richness of the abundant health secrets hidden in the flora and fauna of the jungles. The only difference is that they are more likely to have been processed in a research laboratory and tested before being presented to you for use.

These distilled ingredients used to a healthy body are being called nutriceuticals at large. This new addition to the dictionary is made up of the words nutrients and pharmaceutical.

Most companies which make skin care related products tout the goodness of antioxidants and natural products that contain antioxidants. An antioxidant is something that destroys the harmful oxygen free radicals. These free radicals could be a product of normal functioning of the body or could be generated due to external factors like ultraviolet rays from the sun.

Though the concept of free radicals is extremely complicated to explain, suffice it to know that these radicals can be harmful and can result in mutation in genes. Mutation can lead to skin cancer and make the individual incapable of repairing the damage done to the skin. With antioxidants we can limit the number of free radicals in our system, thereby ensuring that we not only keep our skin supple and glowing but also healthy. This wonderful discovery of how antioxidants can work to negate the effect of free radicals had led to fantastic products which can help in tackling issues related to ageing skin. Problems like wrinkles, spots, pigmentation and small growths can be resolved with increasing the amount of antioxidants in your diet and oral application of antioxidant concentrates.

How To Use Make Up As A Fashion Accessory

beauty, skincare, make up, looking good, advice, spa, women, hair, fashion, style

Makeup can be one more accessory to your personal image and thats why we are going to explain to you step by step the most flattering and easy trends so that this season you will be beautiful.

MAKEUP

There are various flattering trends this season. On the one hand, there is the natural look with earthy and gold tones, and neutral tones for the eyes and transparent but shinny lips. On the other hand, there is the sexier look with darker tones for the eyes from navy blue to purple, and (dont forget black), and dark sexy lips.

ADVICE: Choose a look that works for you and one that you feel most comfortable with and follow the advice that we give you below.

FOUNDATION

Give a touch of something pearlescent to your foundation and youll achieve a modern and flattering look.

ADVICE: Apply your foundation to the entire face. Once it has been absorbed in to the skin, wait a few minutes for it to absorb, apply a small amount of illuminating powder in the T zone, forehead, cheekbones and chin. Blend it well with a brush for a pearly but natural effect. The result, light satiny skin.

COVER UP

Brighten your look by using a light cover up which is lighter than your skin tone over your foundation.

ADVICE: Blend it well around your eyes with your finger tip to take away any excess. And thats it, a great look without bags and full of life.

EYES

For a natural look, use browns and neutral tones.

ADVICE: Apply a golden tone on the upper eyelid to achieve the look and give it a touch of light. If you want your eyes to have a stronger look, use a dark brown pencil on the inner eye.

For a sexy look, use darker tones, the ones you like the most, from navy blue to bottle green. Or if you like, use grays or blacks.

ADVICE: Dont forget to put the darker color on your eyelid putting a blended line next to the eye lashes and put makeup on the outer eye with a black pencil. Lighten the eyelid just under the eyebrow with a pearly or shinny white for a sexy arousing look.

ESSENTIAL: Everyone notices mascara so curl your eyelashes beforehand and use two cotes to give them volume.

CHEEKBONES

Give your cheekbones a healthy look with soft rosy natural colors.
ADVICE: Blend blush well with a clean brush and loose powder on your cheekbones.

LIPS

If you want a natural look, or you have put too much lipstick on, apply lip gloss for a juicy natural look.

ADVICE: Choose a lip gloss that also shines and protects your lips.

On the other hand, if you want to forget the natural look, try a passion red or a bright fushia. The result, sexy provocative, but natural lips.

ADVICE: Use a well-sharpened lip pencil that is very similar to your lipstick to outline your lips. Do this before applying lipstick so that the color will last longer and it will be easier to use darker tones.

THE FINAL TOUCH

Wash your hair with a rinse similar to the natural color of your hair to make it brighter but without changing the color.

ADVICE: Ask you hairdresser. There are rinses that naturally moisturize and give shine to the hair.

Overview of Plastic Surgery

If you are considering surgery to change your appearance, you should know about plastic surgery from both a historical and current point of view.

Overview of Plastic Surgery

As an elective surgery, plastic surgery often doesnt get the objective coverage it should. Proponents crow about the positive effects while critics argue the opposite. Rarely does either group actually quote any undisputables about plastic surgery. Well, we do in this article.

Plastic surgery has a long history. Susrutha, an Indian surgeon, is the first known plastic surgeon, providing nose reconstruction services in the 8th century BC. The Romans were known to perform plastic surgery procedures to alter the appearance of ears. John P. Mettauer is generally agreed to be the first plastic surgeon in the United States, practicing in the 1820s. Plastikos is the base word for plastic surgery, meaning to mold something in Greek.

In more modern times, plastic surgery has come on strong as a method for changing appearances. The most common procedures with most popular first are liposuction, breast surgery, nose reshaping, eyelid lifts, tummy tucks and facelifts. In the last ten years, the number of plastic surgery procedures has quadrupled as the specialty has gained greater acceptance and publicity on television shows.

When one thinks about plastic surgery, most assume it is women having their appearances modified. In general, this is true. Roughly 80 percent of all plastic surgery patients are women, but the demographic is starting to change. While 20 percent of patients are now men, the figure is growing. Like women, men seek liposuction, nose reshaping, tummy tucks, and lifts. No, they dont go in for breast enlargements, although breast reductions are growing in popularity.

Somewhat controversial, teenagers are getting plastic surgery in growing numbers. Individuals under 18 most often focus on procedures related to the skin, with skin peels and microdermabrasion procedures accounting for more than half of all procedures.

Historically, plastic surgery was a relatively uncommon procedure. As this overview reveals, media exposure and lower prices mean that is simply no longer the case.

Free Contact Lenses - How You Can Get Them At Insane Prices

Unfortunately, contact lenses are way more expensive than eyeglasses. Even though a pair of lenses is significantly cheaper than a pair of glasses, contact lenses must be replaced time and time again and they require cleansing solution too. Occasionally hospitals and charity organizations will offer eye checkups and give out free contact lenses but there is a way you can save money on contacts regularly.

Instead of purchasing lenses through your doctor, shop around online! Not only is it more convenient to buy contacts online, but it also allows you to easily research the brands that your optometrist has recommended. But most of all, you can sometimes save up to 70% on lenses buy purchasing them over the internet. Pay attention to consumer reviews and shipping costs.

And be careful on the World Wide Web. Your eyes are delicate and important - do not order contact lenses online if you are not well researched about the web-based company selling them to you. As long as you are familiar with the brand and quality of the contacts you order however, you should be fine.

Also, cosmetic contact lenses are not typically purchased but when they are, they are much cheaper than prescribed lenses and even go at bargain prices sometimes. When someone buys these lenses, it is for mere decorative purposes though.

Decorative color contact lenses and special effect contact lenses are available without prescription and a wide variety of options and prices exist - but anyone interested in these prescription free contact lenses should be especially concerned about the reputation of the company selling them. More anonymous internet companies sporting prescription free contact lenses may not be as reliable as a local eye care professional. Make sure the lenses are FDA-approved before purchase.

Get The Glow, But Remove The Shine - Homemade Facial Skin Care Recipes For Oily Skin

by Rose Smith, (c) 2005

Don't you just hate it how one part of your face is oily and shiny, while another is dry and flakey? It seems almost impossible to be able to clean both zones equally. Soap just makes the dry areas drier and lotions make the oily areas even greasier. So what's a woman to do?

The problem may lie in the facial cleansing products that you are using. While they may work well for your T-zone, the chemicals in the product may actually be removing too much of the natural oils from the rest of your face. That's the evil of manufactured skin care products. Anyway you look at it, it's practically impossible to buy a completely natural skin care product made from pure organic ingredients. They have to add some chemicals in order to stabilize and preserve the product for a certain shelf life.

The good news is... the solution to your problem may lie right in your own kitchen cabinets.

Homemade natural skin care products don't contain any additional chemical ingredients that could potentially irritate or harm your skin. The only prospective problem may lie in people who are allergic to certain food ingredients. This is easily overcome by substituting the offending food or ingredient with another similar ingredient. For example, if you are allergic to strawberries you could substitute a cucumber instead.

Not only do homemade skin care products cost a lot less to make, you can easily experiment with what works best for you without breaking the bank. Let's face it, some of the products on the market cost a small fortune! I know it frustrates me to buy a product for $20 and find out it either doesn't work or I can't use it because it makes me break out. It's much easier to head off to the kitchen, mix up a small sample batch of something and give it a try.

You will find that some recipes have to be mix up just prior to use as they don't store well, but the majority of recipes can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week allowing you to mix up a small batch to save yourself some time. The following recipes are great for people with combination/oily skin that tend to break out with acne and blackheads. Why not give these a try and see how they work for you?

Facial Cleanser For Normal to Oily Skin

2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp glycerin
1/2 cup distilled water

Mix the ingredients together until smooth. Pour into a jar and place the jar inside a double-boiler pot (do not use direct heat on the jar). Bring the water in the outer pot to a boil and heat the mixture until it is clear and has thickened. (If it thickens too much, add a bit more water). Remove from heat and let cool. This is a good all-over facial cleanser and should keep for 7 to 10 days.

Green Tea Skin Toner

1 teabag of green tea
1/2 cup boiling water

Let the tea bag steep for 2 to 3 minutes in the hot water. Remove the tea bag and let the water cool. Pour into an empty toner bottle or something similar with a small opening. Use with cotton pads like you would regular toner. If you wish to, you could also add a 3 or 4 drops of tea tree essential oil. Tea tree oil is a great antiseptic for pimples, while the oil helps to moisturize the skin.

Facial Scrub (Good for blackheads)

1 part baking soda
1 part water

Mix together into a paste. Gently scrub blackheads for 2 to 3 minutes. Rinse off. Use once or twice a week.

Natural Scrub For Oily Skin

1 part sea salt
1 part lemon juice

Mix into a paste and gently scrub face for 1 to 2 minutes. Rinse off. Interestingly, you would think this would be very drying to your skin, but I've found it actually leaves your skin feeling clean, refreshed, and soft. Use once a week to remove dead skin cells.

Deep Cleansing Mask

1/2 of a peeled, pureed cucumber
1 tbsp plain, natural yogurt

Mix ingredients together and apply to the face (avoid eye area). Let dry for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Use once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and refresh your skin.

As you can see, making up your own natural homemade skin care recipes can be quite simple and convenient with the right ingredients in the house. After all, if you have to run out to buy some cleanser, toner, moisturizer, etc., why not just stock up on what you need to make your own facial skin care products instead? At least you'll know exactly what's contained in each product. Just remember to throw away the old stuff after 7 days and make a fresh batch for the following week. Your skin will thank you for it.

Cosmetic dentistry improves the appearance of your teeth using reshaping, bonding, porcelain veneers, or dental implants, and a variety of other industry procedures.

Decayed, cracked and chipped teeth are common, but they can destroy your smile. As a result of tooth-grinding, too-vigorous tooth brushing, decay, or just bad circumstances, many damaged or disfigured teeth can be restored. The Cosmetic Dentist adheres restorative materials directly to your teeth, this technique is called direct adhesion (called bonding) Direct adhesion methods maximally preserve the existing natural tooth structures. Properly cared for and not abused, these materials last years. Even then, outright material failure is rare.

Cosmetic dentistry techniques can improve the appearance of your damaged, discolored, misshapen, or misaligned teeth. Take the time to find a good cosmetic Dentist in your area to explain to your personally how stress free and painless the procedures can be.

Perfect Your Smile The Painless Way

Dentist. The very word evokes memories of noisy drills and aching jaw muscles - and pain.

It's hard enough to force yourself to go for just routine maintenance, but for cosmetic dentistry? Even people who want to improve the look of their teeth and enhance their smiles hesitate when faced with the prospect of applying veneers.

Traditional veneers usually involve the drilling or grinding of sensitive tooth structure, often requiring an anesthetic and painkillers after the procedure. Because the tooth structure is destroyed, veneers are irreversible.

A newer alternative called Lumineers by Cerinate provides a painless way to straighten teeth instantly and whiten teeth permanently. Made from patented Cerinate porcelain from the Den-Mat Corp., Lumineers are thin, yet strong, and can be used over crowns and bridges. The procedure is non-invasive and requires no anesthetic or numbing shots.

Another advantage of Lumineers is that your original teeth remain intact.

Dentists seem to be lauding the procedure. Crystal Condit, a dentist in Raleigh, N.C., extols Lumineers.

"I was amazed at how my first [procedure] went," she said. "Thirty minutes of 'prep' time and a one-hour delivery with no anesthesia. The patient loved it."

Dental Products Report, a trade publication, recently awarded Lumineers a spot on its list of "Top 10 Products."

"There is no reason to suffer for beauty anymore," said Dr. David Nussblatt, a dentist in New York City. "Lumineers provides an amazingly natural, star-power smile easily and comfortably."

Selecting a Plastic Surgeon

Although plastic surgery is usually a voluntary choice, you should treat it as seriously as any other medical procedure. Here are some thoughts on selecting a plastic surgeon.

Selecting a Plastic Surgeon

If you were to be told you needed surgery to resolve a medical issue, you would take some basic steps. You would want to know exactly what was involved, the possible results and the risks of going ahead. In most cases, you would also want to get a second opinion, particularly if there were significant risks associated with the surgery. If a specialist were doing the surgery, you would undoubtedly want to know about their qualifications before agreeing to the procedure. Although plastic surgery is an elective surgery, you should treat it the same way.

The decision to improve your appearance through elective surgery should not be taken lightly. As with any surgery, you should consult with at least two plastic surgeons to get a full understanding of your options, the potential results and any risks. In making the final choice, there are some basic questions you should get answers to:

1. Is the plastic surgeon board certified? Board certification is a sign the surgeon has undergone significant training and continues to do so. You can confirm certification for any plastic surgeon by calling the American Board of Plastic Surgery at 866-275-2267.

2. Has the surgeon perform the surgery on previous occasions? If so, how many times?

3. Assuming the surgeon has done the surgery before, do they have before and after pictures?

4. What are the possible results from the surgery including potential risks?

5. Where will the surgery be performed and does the surgeon have privileges at a hospital?

6. As odd as this question may sound, will the surgeon actually perform the entire surgery? Some surgeons will allow assisting physicians to take active roles.

As with any surgery, you want a plastic surgeon that is highly qualified and experienced. Surgery is a serious matter, so do not shop by price.

How Dental Plans Differ from Dental Insurance

It is unfortunate that people do not give the required attention to their teeth and dental care as they do for other kind of diseases and illnesses. In order to minimize the costs on dental treatments and to prevent dental diseases it is good to have a dental plan to take care of all such problems. Dental plans differ from the dental insurance by the type and feature. Almost all the dental plans take a member ship fee which varies from one plan to another plan. Also, dental plans can be either offered to individuals or to the family on the whole. The family dental plans offer higher discounts than the individual dental plans. Before selecting the appropriate dental plan it is good to check the rates charged under different plans. Also the type of coverage provided to the dental services matters a lot while selecting the dental plans.

Dental services covered under the dental plans:

Normally most of the basic dental procedures like the regular dental check ups, treatments like the cleaning procedure, oral examination, teeth filling, fluoride treatment and teeth extraction are covered by dental plans. But, the dental plans do not cover major dental treatments like oral surgeries, restorative dental care, root canal treatments, dental implants, braces etc. Under such circumstances the dental plans allow the policy holder to get reimbursement for the amount spent on the basic dental treatment and the other expenses should be born by the patient himself. Certain dental plans may not allow selecting a dentist of the policy holders choice and the patient has to undergo dental care treatments from the dentist mentioned in the dental plan. Hence, the policy holder before selecting the dental plan should check for a dentist present in his area and also for any schedule is mentioned in the dental plan or not. Dental plans can be availed either monthly or annually. The annual dental plan is supposed to be more cost efficient than the monthly dental plan.

Discount dental plans:

Discount dental plan is considered to be an affordable option. This dental plan offers discounts on all dental care treatments ranging from 10 60 percentages. It also covers dental works like braces, bridges, dentures, root canal treatments etc. This is possible by showing the membership card to the dentist while taking the dental treatment of any kind.

Reasons for choosing discount dental plans:

The main reason for choosing discount dental plan is that, it is very cost effective. The premium to be paid towards the dental plan is very low in spite of the coverage being much better. The money paid up front is also very low.

Discount dental plans can be availed for even pre existing dental diseased conditions and there is no exclusion. Discount dental plans help people when they are needed and for the purpose they avail it.

There is no hassle of filling forms as the person has to present the discount card and avail discounts from the dentists. Even the dentists are happy about discount cards as their time and energy is saved. It also offers a large list of dentists to choose from. The very important aspect is that even cosmetic dentistry is covered under dental plans making them very lucrative.

Teeth Whitening and Sensitive Teeth

Tooth whitening to achieve that "perfect" smile has recently become extremely popular. However, there is a price to be paid for that beautiful smile. One of the side effects of tooth whitening is temporarily increased sensitivity to heat or cold. This increase in sensitivity is seen by most people as being a minor side effect of treatment, plus it usually goes away after treatment is over. However, if your teeth are already overly sensitive to temperature, then you may need to be more careful in choosing and using a tooth whitening method.

There are several different methods available for applying the whitening agent to your teeth. One is the tray type system, which uses a carrier tray to hold the whitening agent next to your teeth. Another method is the popular whitening "strips", which are made of very thin plastic impregnated with the whitening agent. These strips are designed to adhere to your teeth when pressed onto them firmly. Also available are gels which contain the whitening agent. They have a thick consistency which allows them to be applied to your teeth and stay until wiped off.

The increased sensitivity is caused by the main ingredient used in most tooth whitening products, either carbomide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide. These two compounds are actually forms of bleach, hence you may see the terms "tooth whitening" and "tooth bleaching" used interchangeably. If you are using a product that contains either of these compounds, there are a few steps you can take to lessen the increase in thermal sensitivity.

One way to reduce the sensitivity is to reduce the time that the tooth whitening product remains on your teeth. For example, if the instructions call for 2 hours per treatment, then reduce this to only 1 hour. Another way would be to increase the time between treatments. If the usual frequency is once per day, then try doing the treatments every other day. If you still experience discomfort you could do both - decrease the treatment time to 1 hour and perform the treatments every other day.

Remember, even people who do not initially have sensitive teeth usually experience a temporary increase in sensitivity during treatment, so you will probably still experience some discomfort. Another suggestion is to brush your teeth before and after treatment with a toothpaste especially designed for sensitive teeth. These toothpastes usually use a flouride compound to de-sensitize your teeth. There are several different ones on the market Also, if you discuss your plans with your dentist, they may able to provide you with a professional flouride treatment that can be applied at home.

One other option is available if you have tried the tooth whiteners and find that they are too uncomfortable. You can use one of the available tooth whitening toothpastes, which will clean your teeth with a mild abrasive rather than bleach them. These tooth whitening toothpastes do not use bleach, so you should not experience any added sensitivity, but they will not whiten your teeth as much as bleaching.

As your can see, if you have sensitive teeth, the tooth whitening process may take longer and require a little extra effort, but you should be able to achieve the same results in the end: a whiter, brighter smile.

Feed Your Skin Antioxidants for a Glowing Complexion

Although there is no conclusive proof that antioxidants keep skin from aging, experts do agree they have the ability to capture free radicals and may protect us from certain diseases. Antioxidant-rich foods can also give us a healthier, glowing complexion.

According to Susan M. Kleiner, R.D., Ph.D, a Seattle-based nutritionist, eating foods rich in antioxidants is best. Theres no substitute for getting nutrients through food. The body absorbs and assimilates them far better than in supplement form.

Kleiner suggests following the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Guide Pyramid, and eating three to five servings of vegetables and two to four servings of fruit each day. Choose at least one citrus fruit, such as an orange, a tangerine, or a grapefruit, for vitamin C. To increase beta-carotene intake, eat at least two orange-yellow or leafy green vegetables each day.

Eat Right for Younger Looking Skin

Eating healthy equals younger looking skin. Drinking a cup of orange juice and eating one raw carrot provides twice the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of vitamin C and beta-carotene. The RDA for vitamin E is harder to meet, especially for those on a low-fat diet.

Dont be afraid to add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil to your diet, or to eat some nuts or seeds, advises Dr. Kleiner.

The following guideline can be used for RDAs for three of the most common antioxidant nutrients, vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene; good sources and how best to maximize benefits of each are included.

Vitamin C: RDA at least 60 mg. (1/2 cup orange juice = 70 mg.) Citrus fruits and juices and tomatoes are good sources of vitamin C. Eat whole fruit for extra fiber. Avoid juice in glass containers, and heat-pasteurized juice. Light and heat destroy some of the vitamin C.

Vitamin E: RDA 8 mg for women / 10 mg. for men (1 tablespoon of canola oil = 9 mg.) Good sources include nuts, seeds and their oils, fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, halibut, and trout, and wheat germ. Use canola, olive, or another vegetable oil in place of butter or margarine when cooking.

Beta-carotene: no established RDA. Expert Dr. Kleiner, however, recommends 5-6 mg. ( One carrot = 12 mg.) Orange and yellow vegetables, and leafy green vegetables, including broccoli, are all good sources. Instead of potato chips or popcorn for an evening snack while watching television, opt for prepackaged, washed and peeled baby carrots.

If you feel you are unable to meet the RDAs through diet alone, by all means take an all-in-one antioxidant vitamin supplement a day, but continue to pay attention to rich food sources.

Summary

Because many over-the-counter cosmetics containing antioxidants dont have enough to be totally affective by themselves, it is best to feed them to your skin in combination with a healthy, antioxidant rich diet for younger looking skin.

We at Savvy Spa Luxuries care about you and your wellbeing. With proper skin care, a healthy diet, regular exercise, adequate sleep, and ample amounts of water, you can enjoy a more fit body, improved quality of life, increased stamina, and a glowing complexion!

Liposuction For Your Chin Area

Facelifts are often viewed as the only method for redefining the face. Liposuction, however, offers an alternative that more and more people are pursuing.

Liposuction For Your Chin Area

In today's society, there is no such thing as aging gracefully. From Hollywood stars to soccer moms in minivans, everyone wants to look and feel younger than their age. For some people, using a new brand of makeup or a new haircut is enough to make you feel young again. For others, the only alternative is plastic surgery. We have all heard of face lifts and brow lifts, but the neck can show age too. That is why some people are now opting for liposuction to slow the aging process on their lower face.

Liposuction is a procedure where fat is removed from under the chin and in the neck, in order to reduce the size of this area. This procedure can help those who suffer from the effects of aging or obesity, as it adds definition to the face and chin. Liposuction can be performed through a small cut in the inside of your mouth, so there is no scarring or through a small cut externally. The basic idea, however, is to get in there and remove the pockets of fatty material that no amount of exercise will ever touch. A defined chin goes a long way to making a person look younger than they really are.

To see if you are a candidate for chin liposuction, you will want to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon. He or she will take a look at your face and see if you will benefit from this type of neck lift surgery, and will assess you to see if you are in the proper health for any surgical procedure. Since this surgery does require invasive procedure, you will be under anesthesia for the submental liposuction.

There are risks with this type of liposuction, just as there are risks with any surgery procedure. Swelling, bruising and infection in the incision site are just a few of the side effects that can happen while having submental liposuction performed on your body. After effects can include a lumpy appearance and other unwanted effects, so be sure to find a certified plastic surgeon to perform your surgery.

The cost for this liposuction procedure varies, depending on the area needing to be treated and many other factors, but it is generally in the range of $1500-$3800. Question your surgeon thoroughly about costs and other items regarding your surgery before having it performed. It is not covered by health insurance, as it is a cosmetic procedure.

With all the different types of surgery available to make you look younger (or even just slimmer) facially, it may seem hard to choose which procedure is right for you. Talk to a board certified plastic surgeon about your individual case, and find out if liposuction is the right course of action for your facial surgery needs.

The Health Benefits of Sunglasses

Did you realize sunglasses protect you from more than cataracts? There are several significant benefits to wearing sunglasses every time you go out into sunlight.

DRIVING GLARE

Sunglasses with 100% UV tinting cut down on glare from reflected sunlight. This reduces squinting (and the wrinkles it causes), and can prevent certain migraines and headaches brought on by bright light. But the real benefit comes when you're driving: glare from a road can temporarily blind drivers. UV tinted sunglasses allow you to avoid this potential hazard. And you don't have to choose dark lenses: pale amber or other light colors work just as well to prevent glare, as long as they are 100% UV tinted.

BLOW DRYING YOUR EYES

Wind and air conditioning can dry out your eyes, causing discomfort, redness, itchiness and soreness. In cars, air conditioning often feels best when its blowing near your face and that means into your eyes. Wearing sunglasses even when its not sunny cuts down on the effects of air blowing directly into your eyes.

CATARACTS

Dont forget cataracts one of those ailments you dont really think about until its too late. Long term excessive exposure to UV rays can cause cataracts in your eyes. Symptoms include blurred vision, light sensitivity, double vision, needing brighter light to read, and fading of colors. Wearing sunglasses regularly can prevent or slow the development of cataracts, so its never too early to start.

Answering Hypnotherapy's Most Frequent Questions

What is hypnosis?

The definition of hypnosis is a relaxed, focused state of concentration. To some, the concept of being relaxed and focused at the same time seems an oxymoron, but hypnosis allows you to enter such a state of mind. It was presumed until recently that it was a sleep-like state, or that the mind was unconscious. Actually, there is a state which the brain enters into. It has been discovered on scans during hypnosis that in this state, the mind is highly receptive to suggestion. It is not an unusual or unpleasant state of mind; most people simply feel relaxed. There is an alteration in brain wave activity, called the alpha state. This is a very pleasant, relaxing state, but during which the mind is alert, responsive, and open to a rich sensory experience.

Is hypnosis dangerous?

In the hands of a properly trained individual, hypnosis is not dangerous. There may be some circumstances which would be undesirable with an untrained hypnotist, but nothing serious could happen. If you are seeking hypnotherapy, always ensure that the practitioner is registered with a professional body with a code of conduct that you can review.

Can hypnosis make me do something against my will?

This is one of the biggest myths surrounding hypnosis. Stage hypnotists choose their subjects carefully so that they will have participants who would be willing to act outrageously. You will never do anything, or accept any suggestion that violates your morals or values. If that was possible, hypnotists could make you rob banks and bring back the money. The hypnotists would be rich and rule the world. Clearly, this is not the case. If you visit a hypnotherapist wanting to seek help with a phobia, and approach your session with an open mind and a willingness for the therapy to work, these is a good chance that your session will have a positive outcome.

Can anybody be hypnotised?

Almost everyone can be hypnotised. There are a few exceptions, however. Some examples are educationally subnormal individuals, people suffering from senility, very young children, hard drug addicts and individuals under the influence of alcohol.

Tumescent Abdominoplasty

Plastic surgery is definitively a medical procedure, but there is also an artistic element to it. This brings us to the subject of tumescent abdominoplasty.

Tumescent Abdominoplasty

One of the most popular methods of liposuction is tumescent abdominoplasty. It is a cosmetic surgical procedure commonly performed to remove excess fat deposits in localized areas permanently, which are resistant to exercise and traditional diet programs. Tumescent Abdominoplasty is also recommended for patients suffering from morbid obesity.

Tumescent abdominoplasty involves the use of advanced techniques to guarantee permanent results by filling and swelling the fatty areas to be removed, thus the name tumescent, literally meaning "to swell". Tumescent abdominoplasty is performed by filling large volumes of fatty areas with a special solution before the surgical procedure. The solution used by surgeons has the effect of a local anesthetic facilitating the surgery and preventing the use of heavy intravenous sedation or general anesthesia that might be risky for some persons. Additionally, the solution makes adrenalin that constricts the blood vessels, reducing bleeding to negligible amounts in comparison with other liposuction methods.

By means of small tubes called cannulas, the patient is connected to a suction syringe or device that extracts the fat in a safe manner that also facilitates a quick recovery. Fatty deposits removed in very specific areas allow the surgeon to sculpt artistically any body into a new shape with the aid of delicate instruments.

There is minimal pain involved in tumescent abdominoplasty. Most clinics use natural therapies to relieve it such as listening to sedative music or friendly talking during the application of the solution which is the time when some pain may occur. The removing and sculpting procedure on fatty deposits does not cause pain by in and of itself.

Patients who undergo this cosmetic surgery often refer to the procedure as comparable to a deep massage session. Because the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, a patient can cooperate with the surgeon by changing position if necessary to optimize the results. Compared to traditional invasive liposuction, this is a drastic improvement.

The anesthetic effect of the solution applied before the procedure generally lasts for nearly 24 hours after which patients may experience light soreness that usually disappears alone after 1 or 2 weeks. From all the abdominoplasty techniques, including dry technique, wet technique, Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction (UAL), Power Assisted Techniques (PAL), etc, Tumescent Abdominoplasty is safest method of liposuction available today.

If you are considering a procedure to address hard to get at areas of fat, tumescent abdominoplasty may be a perfect option. Make sure to discuss the applicability of the procedure to your situation with your plastic surgeon.

Making Old Faces Young The Natural Way

Making ones face look younger is everyones dream. There are people who resort to different methods - even the most expensive ones - just so theyd get that look young, feel young atmosphere. But to those who can barely afford it, the attempt is considered a vice. Most of the time, youd hear from these people the line, Why would you interfere with natures course?

But those who want to preserve the youth as they add up years would say, Why not age with grace? Yes, why not? You may think it is too late to do so especially if you were once abusive of your body (e.g., too much sun-bathing, etc.) when you were younger. Most of the time, it is the reason why people acquire the old-age look (even before they get to that stage) since the body was not well taken cared of.

The tell-tale signs of old age are the sunken hollows of the cheeks and around the eyes, sagging of the chin, wrinkles on the forehead, the rumpled and the total haggard look. But theres always hope. The moment you realize you need to take care of your health is never too late a time to do sowhether you are 30 or 60.

Its been proven that rejuvenation of the face through friction and massage are the best ways to look young and feel young. Realize that the main reason your facial muscles sag is lack of muscular exercise. Like any other muscle of the body, constant exercise can make these facial muscles expand and develop, effectively removing the sagging look. Wrinkled skin, on the other hand, has been proven to be made elastic again through regular application of friction.

This does not only apply to women who are known to be vain in nature but for the men as well.

How is applying friction on the skin done? With the help of some lotion to minimize irritation (not too much lotion, though, as there will be no more friction), work on the areas which normally result to sagging, such as the cheeks, the throat, the chin, the forehead and around the eyes. Start as though you are polishing a pair of shoes: with a slight, circular friction on the surface areas, which should gradually increase in pressure but not too vigorous that you will end up abrading and irritating your face. This process will progressively restore the elasticity of your skin and smoothen out the wrinkles.

To exercise your facial muscles, use your palm heel. With enough pressure, massage your cheeks and other parts of the face in circular motion. This process will build up the muscles and fill those hollows, those sunken areas around the eyes and the cheeks. Do this also on the chin and throat. Make sure you apply equal amount of pressure to the entire face so that the build up of muscles will be uniform.

Do these exercises a few minutes everyday--even while you are watching the TV-- and you will soon see the miracle of a younger looking you.

The process of looking older does not have to be as fast as it is now. With the right determination, and knowing the proper techniques, you can almost stop the advance of the aged look, no matter that your actual age is unstoppably moving ahead. Its been proven possible and theres no reason you cant achieve the same.

Beauty Care - Antiperspirants

Perspiration and body odor have been of concern for many of us who wish to present a beautiful body to others. Here it is important to note that deodorants and antiperspirants are not the same. Deodorants hide the smell with fragrance. They do not dry the perspiration at all. They also do not prepare the skin for not perspiring. Deodorants will not keep you dry. They will make you feel good with their fragrance and hide body odor.

For keeping yourself dry you have to use antiperspirants. An antiperspirant blocks the sweat ducts and does not allow the sweat from reaching the skin surface. Aluminum chloride has been a choice ingredient in antiperspirants. Many new aluminum compounds are now being used as active ingredients in antiperspirants and the newest is Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Glycine.

The ideal anti perspirant should be water soluble, free of any fragrance and contain ingredients that are not normally allergy forming. As the areas where antiperspirants are usually y applied such as underarm, is moist and warm, with skin layers upon layers and having thin epidermis, the ideal antiperspirant should be highly non irritating for most of the users. it should also not leave any deposit after drying.

If you have any allergy to fragrances, dyes, contact, please use antiperspirants with care. Diabetics should use these products after consulting their doctor. If you have sensitive skin or have tendency for eczema, please consult your doctor before using antiperspirants.

Natural Skin Care Strategies

When people think about skin care, consumer products are generally the first things that come to mind. While there some excellent skin care products on the market today, the solution to your skin care problems cannot always be solved with the latest and greatest products. While these products do have their place, there are a number of things you can do on your own to ensure that your skin is healthy and beautiful.

Proper hydration is often overlooked as a treatment for problematic skin. The importance of water consumption cannot be understated. It is recommended that everyone drink upwards of eight 8oz glasses of water per day. Water plays a significant role in helping to rid your body of excess toxins. These toxins can have an effect on other areas of your health, as well as the state of your skin.

Exfoliation is another element of skin care that is often overlooked. Proper exfoliation can have a profound effect on your skin. Dry brush exfoliation is by far the best for your skin, as it removes dead skin cells, improves lymph node function, and increases blood circulation. Dry brush exfoliation also stimulates detoxification. As your skin is your largest organ, the state of your skin can provide a lot of information about the state of your health.

Your diet also plays a significant role in the health of your skin. Common sugar, for instance, has recently been linked with accelerated aging. The process is called glycation, and occurs when a sugar molecule binds to a protein molecule. These new molecules are referred to as AGE's (advanced glycation end products), and have been found to damage collagen in skin, ligaments, and cartilage.

Essential fats are another consideration. These are fats that your body cannot live without because they assist in the creation of cell membranes, hormones, and other such chemicals needed for optimal health. To ensure you are getting "good" fats in your diet, try using flax seed oil, walnut oil, or other such supplements. Eating fish can also provide you with an excellent source of "good" fat, especially salmon and sardines. Be sure to consult your physician before making any significant lifestyle changes.
